A vehicle’s open RDW data in one request

Send a registration, with or without dashes. You get the vehicle back with its fuels, axles, body, inspections, defects and recalls: up to more than 180 fields from 16 RDW datasets, arranged in sections. Downloading the datasets, joining them per registration and keeping them current is our job.

Every field has an English name, a fixed type and its unit in the name, such as length_cm, net_max_kw or catalog_price_eur: amounts are numbers in euros. By default the answer leaves out what RDW has no value for; with view=full every field is there, null when RDW has none.

  • Only need part of it? include=technical, environment returns just those sections.
  • Know RDW’s open data? view=raw returns the same values under RDW’s own dataset and column names.
  • Defects come with their description, recalls with the details of the campaign.
  • Every change in the feed carries the path of its field in this answer, so you apply it to a record you looked up.
  • GET /api/v1/datasets lists every dataset with its rows, version and when RDW published it.
  • You send your API key in the Authorization header as a Bearer token, or in the X-Api-Key header.
